Hosted by Telstra at its Customer Insight Centre in Sydney, the PITA Strategy Forum 2024 welcomed over 300 participants, the highest number ever recorded for this annual event. Held from October 29–31, 2024, the Forum remains the premier platform for PITA members to explore transformative developments revolutionizing the telecommunications industry today and into the future.

The 3-day forum featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, and in-depth sessions on critical themes such as:

• Cybersecurity evolution and strategies to stay ahead of emerging threats
• Digital infrastructure development and innovations in broadband, mobile, and satellite technologies
• Artificial intelligence, automation, and customer experience in the cloud era
• Investment and regulatory challenges, spectrum management, and emergency readiness
• Digital transformation, Open RAN, 5G, network monetization, and Web3 in telecoms
• Efforts to bridge the investment gaps and drive sustainable development in the Pacific

Notable sessions included the CEO Forum, roaming and fraud discussions, and collaborative policy sessions with GSMA and other partners. Over 60 speakers and industry leaders contributed, offering unique insights and practical experiences relevant to the Pacific region.

Pre- and post-forum technical tours added significant value for participants. Equinix hosted a data center tour showcasing interconnection services, energy-efficient infrastructure, and edge computing capabilities. Meanwhile, Nokia welcomed a group to its lab facilities, demonstrating innovations in fiber access, automation, and the role of optical networking in enabling resilient and scalable digital connectivity.

The PITA Strategy Forum continues to grow in relevance, providing a vital space for collaboration, strategic dialogue, and collective action across the Pacific telecom sector.
